This small series of works is my reflection on the theme of “home”, a place in life, family ties, human principles and how easy it is to lose and destroy all this. A desire to overcome the feeling of fear and uncertainty, loneliness, a sense of instability and insecurity, a loss of self and meaning. An attempt to fit into a new space with unusual socio-cultural values and characteristics, a way of life and rhythm of life.
The shooting took place in Central Asia (Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan) in 2022 over a period of seven months (May — November). Although the photographs were taken two years ago, I was able to put everything together relatively recently. When the emotions subsided and I was able to look at this work with a more detached gaze, only then did it come together like a long-awaited puzzle. As a result, this series happened, which reminds me of human destinies (small and insignificant) in the swift whirlwind of life, which tears, breaks, carries away, and throws us all in new, unexpected places.
And then begins a battle of reason and emotion, rash decisions and consequences, fear and courage, anger and mercy, despair and fortitude
